Graetzel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Exactly 10 years ago, between 27 and 29 April 2014, <strong>Professor Michael Gr\u00e4tzel<\/strong> was visiting Warsaw for the invitation of Prof. Janusz Lewi\u0144ski thanks to the support of the EU <em>7th Framework<\/em> Project \"Noblesse\". Back then, Prof. Graetzel gave an inspiring lecture, visited our laboratories and took part in several discussions. <\/p>\n<p>That visit resulted in a decade of our fruitful cooperation in the field of perovskite photovoltaics. The common activities were realised, among others, within the H2020 FET-Open GOTSolar consortium project, the H2020 MSCA NaMeS co-tutored doctoral project, H2020 MSCA PF post doctoral project, and during numerous short research stays. The results achieved through this collaboration were published in 10 common articles (as of 2024), and the the first phase of the cooperation has been summarised in a common Accounts in Chemical Research paper: <a href=\"https:\/\/pubs.acs.org\/doi\/abs\/10.1021\/acs.accounts.9b00454\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">[read here]<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Professor Michael Gr\u00e4tzel<\/strong> directs there the <em>Laboratory of Photonics and Interfaces<\/em> at the <em>\u00c9cole Polytechnique de Lausanne<\/em>. He pioneered the use of <strong>mesoscopic materials in energy conversion systems<\/strong>, in particular photovoltaic cells, lithium ion batteries and photo-electrochemical devices for the splitting of water into hydrogen and oxygen by sunlight. He discovered a <strong>new type of solar cell<\/strong> based on dye sensitized nanocrystalline oxide films. Mass production has started in October 2009. Author of over 900 publications, his work has been cited over 107\u2019000 times (h-index 151) making him <strong>one of the 10 most highly-cited chemists in the world<\/strong>.
