This project seeks to develop efficient auxiliary ligands for zinc-catalyzed asymmetric epoxidation of enones or hydroamination of alkenes. The first avenue will focus on the design and synthesis of bi- and multifunctional ligands based on pyrrole scaffold and their transformation to corresponding organozinc complexes as catalysts for the hydroamination. In addition, the controlled oxygenation of RZn(L) complexes should provide novel zinc alkylperoxides which will be tested in the epoxidation reaction. The goal of the proposed research is to design, prepare and characterize new metal\u2013organic frameworks (MOFs) and non-covalent porous materials (NPMs) of desired topology, unique guest-responsive framework and functionality based on coordination-driven and non-covalent interaction-driven self-assembly. Construction of predictable networks requires preparation and X-Ray diffraction studies of metal complexes with pre-designed ligands. The research in this area will be conducted in the Lewi\u0144ski group at the Warsaw University of Technology. The key properties of MOFs and NPMs are governed by weak intermolecular forces in complexes or host-guest systems.
